TruTeam Staffing Advisors, based in Orange County, California, was founded in November of 2017 by Brooke Engle and Cara Swaby. Stemming from 30+ years of combined Epic staffing experience plus their personal and professional values of integrity, transparency, and respect, TruTeam was created with the sole mission of providing clients and candidates with the highest level of service while maintaining a specialized focus around the Epic EHR environment.
As the sole Epic-only staffing firm in the United States, our vision is clear—to be the industry’s go-to Epic staffing firm. Our approach is centered around three core areas: focus, quality, and care. By focusing on Epic-only resources, we’ve developed a stronger foundation of Epic talent. We hold ourselves to the highest quality standards to find the right fit and avoid wasting your time and energy. And each TruTeam member truly cares about adding value to your organization and culture.

Brooke Engle
Brooke has the biggest heart of anyone you'll ever meet. Her kindness and compassion are so infectious that within the space of one conversation, you'll find your faith in humanity restored. She has a razor-sharp business mind and the uncanny ability to zero in on exactly what's important in any given scenario. She's spent thousands of hours advising clients throughout her 15+ year career in healthcare IT and still approaches each relationship with an unwavering desire to deliver value. As the Chief Executive Officer of TruTeam, she challenges those around her to dream bigger and push beyond what they think is possible. She's also the Chief Champion of celebrating work well done because she cares about making a positive impact on our clients and consultants. And she's always on the lookout for the next wave that will take TruTeam to new heights.

Cara Swaby
Cara is TruTeam’s fearless Chief Operating Officer and oversees all aspects of our business and day-to-day operations. She is the most natural “people person” you’ll ever meet and you can’t help but feel Cara’s genuine passion for connecting with people and helping others. It’s not what she does…it’s simply who she is. There is no canned approach with Cara. She cares too much to operate transactionally. Whether you’re a client, employee, consultant or partner, it means the world to Cara to dig deep and figure out how she and TruTeam can provide the maximum amount of value to each relationship. She is the truest exemplification of an executive who leads by example and it is her mission to change the way this industry operates, one genuine relationship at a time.

Rachel Macklin
Often mistaken for a larger-than-average hummingbird, Rachel can typically be found darting between projects across the TruTeam cosmos to help the company grow and flourish. A theatre nerd at heart, she combines over two decades of storytelling with 15+ years of experience in staffing, recruiting, project management, and management consulting. As TruTeam's strategic leader, she develops and owns a dynamic portfolio of projects and initiatives designed to bring the TruTeam vision to life through words, images, people, and occasionally, math. She's also a big fan of consolidating Excel spreadsheets, improving processes, and fostering a company culture that genuinely supports every human in our orbit.
